Case Study : Law Firm
Business Challenge:
A company with two partners had been successful for over 10 years in one geographic market. One of the partners believed that opening a new office in another geographic market would increase the value of the company, but the other partner was unsure if opening a new office would increase the bottom line or cost more than the effort was worth.
Solution:
Any business expansion triggers a critical need for serious business planning. CD Anderson pointed out that to reach a new market, the partners would face many of the same issues that were addressed when the firm first opened, with the additional challenge of finding a way to divide their time between the established business and their venture into a new market. We assisted the owners in developing a business plan for the entire company that outlined in detail the plan for entering this new market.
Results:
The partners decided to move forward with the plan to open a new location in another geographic market, and they did so with a realistic notion of the commitment of time and money involved. Today they are growing in the new market and have increased their business by more than 50 percent in less than one year.
